Mac Stewart is a contemporary artist based in Los Angeles. His paintings and sculptures combine his deep love of nature with the psychic scars that haunt everyone.
Raised in Atlanta, Mac spent his childhood exploring the trails and forests that surrounded his home. During his freshman year of high school, he began to paint seriously drawing from his love of natural forms and mining the nightmares of his youth.
Mac had his first opportunity to work large scale when Living Walls, Atlanta asked him to be part of their 2014 conference. While his friends were heading off to college, Mac attacked the 100’ x 20’ wall assigned to him. This was followed by a mural at Art Basel, Miami in December of 2014.
Since then, he’s shown at the High Museum of Art and the Hudgens Center. He was invited to paint a solo show at the Mason-Scharfenstein Museum of Art in 2016 and lectured at the college. He designed sets for Gwinnett Ballet Theatre and completed large scale murals for companies such as Facebook and Saban Brands. Two of his drawings were purchased by the High Museum of Art and are part of their permanent collection.
